one year `House of Nicole`

i can`t believe that this year has gone so fast! actually i blogged for the first time on 31.05.2010.
a lot of things have happened.
thank you, my readers, thank you so much! it is good to know that you like my blog!

when i started this blog my plans where a little different. i thought you would get to see the complete remodelig of the house we currently live in.
well, it didn`t go all the way to the end.

than i wanted to show you the new house that i was supposed to buy with my husband.
we`ll see what happens.

since last may a lot of things have happened: i started a new job as a kitchen designer/-saleswoman
(love it), i took some short trips to germany and denmark, some trips in norway, my kids have gotten bigger and - suddenly - i find myself singel.

my plans for the next year will include the selling of our house, me and my kids moving to a cosy little flat (wish me luck!) and a lot of things i can`t tell you yet!

probably i will be busy with making the new place cosy and a little stylish, find a new peace in my life, and other than that i also plan to show you a lot more of what i am doing at work.

weird times right now. i`m trying to find a place to rent, will actually go on a viewing tomorrow.

other than that i have been working, trying out my new life as a single mom and preparing the viewings.

taking it one thing at a time, otherwise i would go crazy...;)

but we are doing pretty ok actually.

when the house is sold i can and have to focus on finding a place for me and the kids.

hei there

after three tough weekends with remodeling and finishing i have a weekend òff`.

the sad new is that my husband and i are going to separate. we have decided to sell our home.

thats not fun, especially not now where most of it is remodeled.

i will move into a smaller apartment and probably rent for a while.

am a little afraid of what the apartment is gonna look like and if i will be able to style it a little bit at least.

what am i going to blog about?

well, i`ll probably find something:)

finally most of the snow is gone and we\re getting prepared for easter. am so looking foreward to my dad coming to visit us!

i am trying not to be sentimental about selling the house, it just makes it harder.

after easter we`ll have a major organizing and throwing away session.

i kind of like that, i like organizing and good systems, i don`t like clutter.

the good thing is the warm weather and sunshine, that is really lifting my spirits.

Kvik, Denmark

do you know the feeling of time passing really fast? can`t believe it`s already the middle of february:0

these pictures are from my trip last week to denmark to the headquarters of Kvik, the company i work for.

i went there for a course in selling kitchens;)

what happens when you put 10 outgoing sales people together in one room? a lot of talking and laughing;) had such a good time!!!

in addition i learned a lot and and got soo inspired:D

my swedish and danish also improved quite a bit..."bänkskivor" ;)

we sell kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes, but you can actually use the modules all over your house:D

a lot of black and white i saw, by the way. woodpatterns are also quite present.

tiling away

happy new year to all of you!

we had dinner with good friends and a really nice evening:D

yesterday we were quite tired, but that didn`t stop me from filling the seams of the kitchen tiles.

i am still not completely done scrubbing the last bit of tile-glue from the tiles, muaa

what i learned from tiling:

1. use a water-saw with good blades

2.you don`t need fancy and expensive gloves, household rubber gloves do perfectly

3. use a mask and protection glasses while mixing the glue with a strong drill

4. start tiling in the morning, be prepared to cut more tiles as you put them on

5. order pizza while working on the kitchen, no meals are prepared there;)

6. scrub away the tile-glue before filling the seams

7. don`t let anybody tell you that it`s a man`s work

8. be proud when you`re done!
